As part of their 1% commitment, OXO will be supporting the food justice efforts at Soul Fire Farm. These programs are working on the front lines to end injustices in the food system and support the next generation of food-activists.
Soul Fire Farm
Soul Fire Farm is a Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC)-centered community farm committed to ending racism and injustice in the food system. To do this, they are training the next generation of activist-farmers and strengthening the movements for food sovereignty and community self-determination.
OXO will support Soul Fire Farm’s programs, including:
- Youth Food Justice Empowerment Program: teaching farming, harvesting, cooking, and business development skills to urban and formerly incarcerated youth
- Farming Immersions: weeklong skill-building programs for farmers of color.
In total, the partnership aims to provide 1,000+ hours of training for BIPOC farmers.
